3 Days - Tour From Fes To Sahara Desert Via Middle Atlas

Day 1: Fez – Midelt – Erfoud – Merzouga

Our private tour begins with a drive towards the Atlas Mountains stopping to visit the village of Ifrane, where we’ll get a chance to explore the famous cedar forest, home to the Berber apes. We’ll then continue through the Tiz Ntalghamt Mountain Pass and the Ziz Gorge (here we can stop for pictures and some local mint tea) to Midelt.

Our drive proceeds across the Ziz Valley, Erfoud, and Rissani; an oasis. Once we arrive at the Erg Chebbi desert dunes overnight in a Small local Riad.

Day 2: Merzouga desert tour

Today we will explore the desert region around the Erg Chebbi desert dunes. You’ll have the opportunity to see the nomad’s way of life and the marvelous contrast of the desert.  We will visit the black village of Khamlia; where we’ll indulge in the music of the Gnawa. For lunch, we’ll delight in a traditional Berber Pizza in the ancient capital of Rissani. In the late afternoon, we’ll ride on camels over the dunes and spend the night in the desert camp.

Day 3: Merzouga – Midelt – Fez

After breakfast, we drive back to Fes. We’ll stop for a stroll in the forest resort in Azrou, where (if we’re lucky) we’ll get to see some wild Monkeys. Before ending our 3-day tour, we’ll stop for lunch in Midelt, a city famous for its minerals.
