Excursion to Ouarzazate

Leaving Marrakech behind we will head south towards the High Atlas. Along the way we will cross the mountain range through the Tizi-N-Tichka pass, at 2,260 meters high, enjoying the mountain road and its surprising landscapes. Next to the road you will see different Berber villages and their farms.

At noon we will arrive at Ait Ben Haddou, the star stop of the excursion. This fortified city is the most famous in Morocco, known for having been the set where films such as Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia and The Mummy were filmed. Here, you will have one hour of free time to eat.

Once in Ouarzazate you can tour the city, visit the Kasbah of Taourirt or enter the cinema museum (entrance not included) to discover why Ouarzazate is known as the “Hollywood of Africa”.

We will be back in Marrakech in the late afternoon.
